☀️ Warm-up (5 minutes)
What are things that make us sick?
Start by asking the children what makes them sick (e.g., coughing, sneezing, tummy ache). Introduce the idea that tiny things called germs can cause these problems.

- Introducing Germs (10 minutes)
- 🦠 Explain that germs are tiny living things that are so small, we can't see them without a microscope.
- 🧫 Show pictures of different types of germs (bacteria, viruses, fungi). Explain that some germs are good (like the ones in our tummy that help us digest food), but some are bad and can make us sick.
- How Germs Spread (15 minutes)
- 🖐️ Glitter Experiment: Put a small amount of glitter on one child's hands. Explain that the glitter represents germs. Have the child touch different objects in the room (toys, tables, other children).
- 🤝 Observe how the glitter (germs) spreads from one object to another. Emphasize that germs can spread when we touch things, cough, or sneeze.
- 🗣️ Demonstrate proper coughing and sneezing etiquette (into the elbow).
- Preventing the Spread of Germs (15 minutes)
- 🧼 Handwashing: Demonstrate proper handwashing techniques (wet hands, apply soap, rub for 20 seconds – sing "Happy Birthday" twice, rinse, dry with a clean paper towel).
- 🧴 Explain the importance of using hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
- 🤧 Discuss covering coughs and sneezes with an elbow.
