Saltwater is exactly what it sounds like: water that contains a significant amount of salt. This is usually found in oceans and seas. The salt content, or salinity, is what makes these bodies of water unique.
Freshwater, on the other hand, has very little salt. You'll find it in lakes, rivers, and ponds. This difference in salt levels is super important for the plants and animals that live there!
