☀️ Warm-up (5 minutes)
Get the kids moving with some simple exercises:
- 🚶♀️ Walking in a circle: Have them walk normally, then on their tiptoes, and then on their heels.
- 🙆 Arm circles: Forward and backward.
- 🦵 Leg swings: Gently swing each leg forward and backward.
🤸 Main Instruction (20 minutes)
🚶 Balance Beam Walk
- 🧱 Use masking tape to create a line on the floor (the "balance beam").
- 🚶♀️ Have the students walk along the line, trying to keep their balance.
- 💡Variation: Have them carry a beanbag on their head while walking.
🦩 Flamingo Stand
- 🦩 Instruct the children to stand on one leg, like a flamingo.
- ⏱️ Time how long each child can maintain the pose.
- 💡Tip: Encourage them to focus on a fixed point to help with balance.
🎈 Balloon Tap
- 🎈 Give each child a balloon.
- 👆 Have them tap the balloon in the air, trying to keep it from touching the ground.
- 💡Variation: Have them tap the balloon with different body parts (head, shoulders, knees).
🎶 Musical Statues
- 🎶 Play music and have the children dance around.
- 🛑 When the music stops, they must freeze in a balanced pose.
- 💡Tip: Encourage creativity in their poses.
📝 Assessment (5 minutes)
Observe the students during the activities. Look for:
- 🧘 Ability to maintain balance in different positions.
- 🤸 Coordination and control of body movements.
- 👂 Following instructions and participating actively.
