π What Causes Day and Night?
Day and night are caused by Earth spinning around, which we call rotation. Imagine you're holding a ball, and you slowly turn it. That's what Earth is doing all the time!
- π Earth's Rotation: The Earth spins on its axis, an imaginary line running from the North Pole to the South Pole.
- βοΈ Facing the Sun: When your part of Earth faces the Sun, it's daytime.
- π Away from the Sun: When your part of Earth turns away from the Sun, it's nighttime.
- β° One Full Rotation: It takes about 24 hours for the Earth to make one complete spin, which is why we have a 24-hour day.
