📚 What is a Question Mark?
A question mark (?) is a punctuation mark that we use at the end of a sentence when we are asking something. It's like a little hook that tells us, "Hey, this is a question!"

☀️ Warm-up (5 minutes)
"Question or Statement?"
- 🗣️ Verbally say simple sentences.
- 👍 Students give a thumbs-up if it's a statement (telling something).
- 👎 Students give a thumbs-down if it's a question (asking something).
- Examples: "The sky is blue." "Are you happy today?" "My name is..." "What is your name?"
✏️ Main Instruction (20 minutes)
- Introduce the Question Mark
- ❓ Show a big question mark cutout.
- 🗣️ Explain that it goes at the end of questions.
- ✍️ Write a question on the board: "What is your favorite color?"
- 👀 Point out the question mark at the end.
- Questions vs. Statements
- 🍎 Explain the difference using picture cards.
- 🖼️ Show a picture of a cat.
- ✍️ Write: "This is a cat." and "Is this a cat?"
- 🗣️ Discuss which one is a question and why (the question mark makes it a question!).
- Turn Statements into Questions
- ✂️ Give students sentence strips with statements like "The sun is hot."
- 💡 Have them rewrite the sentences as questions: "Is the sun hot?"
