- π Main Idea: This is the most important message or point of a story or paragraph. Think about what the text is mostly about!
- π‘ Supporting Details: These are facts, examples, or descriptions that tell more about the main idea. They help to explain or prove the main point.
- π Vocabulary: Understanding new words is key! Look for context clues (other words in the sentence) to guess what an unfamiliar word might mean.
- βοΈ Story Elements: Every good story has characters (who the story is about), a setting (where and when it takes place), and a plot (the events that happen).
- π§ Reading Comprehension: This means truly understanding what you read. Ask yourself questions like: Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?
- β¨ Punctuation: Periods (.) end sentences. Question marks (?) ask questions. Exclamation marks (!) show strong feelings. Commas (,) separate items in a list or parts of a sentence.
- π Author's Purpose: Authors write for different reasons: to persuade (convince you), to inform (teach you facts), or to entertain (tell a fun story).
