π Mastering Pronouns: A 4th Grade ELA Guide
Pronouns are super useful words that help us avoid repeating the same nouns over and over again. Think of them as stand-ins or substitutes for nouns! For example, instead of saying 'Sarah went to the park, and Sarah saw a dog,' you can say 'Sarah went to the park, and she saw a dog.' 'She' is the pronoun that replaces 'Sarah.' Pronouns make our sentences smoother and easier to read. There are different kinds, like 'I,' 'you,' 'he,' 'she,' 'it,' 'we,' and 'they,' which are often used as the subject of a sentence, and 'me,' 'you,' 'him,' 'her,' 'it,' 'us,' and 'them,' which are often used as the object. Learning to spot and use them correctly is a big step in becoming a great writer!
