Hello, young learners! Today, we're going on an adventure to meet two kinds of letters: big letters and small letters! Think of it like this: some letters wear fancy hats (capital letters), and some just wear their everyday clothes (lowercase letters).
⬆️ What is a Capital Letter?
- 🌟 A capital letter is a BIG letter. It stands tall and proud!
- ➡️ We use a capital letter at the very beginning of a sentence. It's like the leader of the sentence, telling us where to start reading! For example, "The cat sat."
- 🏷️ We use capital letters for names of people, places, and special things. Your name starts with a capital letter! Like Mia, Jake, Paris, or Sunshine.
- 👤 The word "I" is always a capital letter, no matter where it is in the sentence, because YOU are very important! For example, "I like to play."
⬇️ What is a Lowercase Letter?
- 🔡 A lowercase letter is a small letter. Most of the letters you see every day are lowercase letters.
- ✍️ We use lowercase letters for most of the words in a sentence, after the first word. They do most of the work!
