π What are Verbs?
Verbs are words that show action or a state of being. They tell us what someone or something is doing. Think of them as the engine that drives a sentence!
- πββοΈ Action Verbs: These verbs show physical or mental actions. Examples include run, jump, think, and write.
- π§ State of Being Verbs: These verbs describe a condition or state. Examples include is, are, was, and were.
- π Helping Verbs: These verbs assist the main verb. Common examples are am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been, have, has, and had. For instance, in the sentence 'I am eating,' 'am' is the helping verb, and 'eating' is the main verb.
