📚 Topic Summary: Starting & Stopping Computer Programs
Learning to use a computer is so much fun! One of the first things we learn is how to start a computer program and how to stop it when we're done. Think of a program like a special tool or a game on the computer. To make it appear on the screen, we need to "open" it. When we're finished playing or working, we "close" it, so the computer can rest and be ready for the next task.
Opening a program usually means finding a small picture, called an icon, on the screen and clicking on it with the mouse. Closing a program often means clicking on a little "X" button, usually in the top corner of the window. It's important to close programs when you're done, just like putting your toys away after playing!
