Labels and signs are all around us! They give us information, like what something is or where to go. In computer science, we can think of labels and signs as a type of data. Data is just information that a computer can use. So, when you see a sign that says "STOP," that's data! And when you put a label on your toy box, that's data too! We use these labels to tell the computer (or each other!) what things are and what they mean.
