📚 What is Saving in Scratch?
Saving in Scratch means making sure your awesome project is kept safe on the computer so you can open it and play it again later. It's like putting your toys away in a special box so they don't get lost!
💾 Saving to Your Computer
Here's how you save your Scratch project:
- 🖱️ Click 'File': Look at the very top left of the Scratch screen. You'll see the word 'File'. Click it!
- ⬇️ Choose 'Save to Your Computer': A menu will pop up. Find and click on 'Save to your computer'. This will download your project as a file.
- ✏️ Name Your Project: A box will appear where you can type a name for your project (like 'My Awesome Game' or 'My Story'). This helps you find it later.
- 🗂️ Choose Where to Save: Pick a place on the computer to save it, like 'Downloads' or 'Documents'. Ask a grown-up if you need help choosing!
- ✅ Click 'Save': Click the 'Save' button. Now your project is safe on your computer!
📂 Opening Your Saved Project
To open your project later:
- 🖱️ Click 'File' again: Just like before, go to the top left of the Scratch screen and click 'File'.
- ⬆️ Choose 'Load from Your Computer': This time, click on 'Load from your computer'.
- 🔍 Find Your Project: Find the file you saved earlier (it will end in '.sb3'). Click on it!
- 🎉 Open It Up!: Click the 'Open' button. Your project will pop right up in Scratch!
💡 Tips for Saving
