Adding fractions with the same denominator is like adding slices of the same-sized pizza. The denominator (the bottom number) tells you how many total slices are in the pizza, and the numerator (the top number) tells you how many slices you have. When the denominators are the same, you simply add the numerators and keep the denominator the same!
