๐ What is a Continent?
Imagine the Earth as a giant puzzle! Continents are like the biggest pieces of that puzzle. They are very large areas of land. We live on one right now!
- ๐บ๏ธ Large Landmasses: Continents are huge areas of land on Earth. Think of them as giant islands, but much, much bigger.
- โฐ๏ธ Natural Borders: Continents are often separated by oceans, mountains, or other natural features. This makes them distinct and unique.
- ๐ฑ Different Environments: Each continent has its own special weather, plants, and animals. This is called its environment.
- ๐๏ธ Home to People: People live on all the continents (except Antarctica, mostly!). We build homes, cities, and communities there.
๐บ๏ธ The Seven Continents
There are seven continents in total. They each have amazing features. Here they are:
- ๐ Africa: Known for its diverse wildlife and the Sahara Desert.
- ๐ Asia: The largest continent, home to the Himalayas and many different cultures.
- ๐ North America: Where you can find the Rocky Mountains and many big cities.
- ๐ South America: Home to the Amazon rainforest and the Andes Mountains.
- ๐ฆ๐ถ Antarctica: A very cold and icy continent, mostly uninhabited.
- ๐ช๐บ Europe: A continent with many countries close together and lots of history.
- ๐ฆ๐บ Australia: Also a country, known for kangaroos and the Outback.
