The Mayflower wasn't a flower at all! It was a ship π’! A big, wooden ship that sailed across a huge ocean a very long time ago. It brought people called Pilgrims to America. They were looking for a new place to live where they could be free.
π History of the Mayflower
Back in 1620, a group of people called Pilgrims decided they wanted to leave England. They wanted to practice their religion freely. So, they made a deal to travel to America. They all squeezed onto the Mayflower ship for a very long journey across the Atlantic Ocean π.

- π They packed food, but it wasn't always enough.

π§ The Mayflower Compact: Rules on the Ship!
Before the Pilgrims even got off the ship, they knew they needed to make some rules for their new colony. They all agreed to follow these rules. This agreement was called the Mayflower Compact.
