This lesson plan aims to equip 6th-grade students with the skills to identify the main idea, analyze text structures, and determine the author's purpose in various texts.

Warm-up (5 minutes)

Main Instruction (30 minutes)
1. Main Idea (10 minutes)
- ποΈ Explain that the main idea is the most important point the author is trying to make.
- βοΈ Model identifying the main idea in a short passage. For example: "This passage is mainly about the importance of recycling."
- π€ Have students practice identifying the main idea in pairs or small groups.
2. Text Structure (10 minutes)
- π§± Introduce the five common text structures:

- Cause/Effect: π₯ Reasons and results are explained.

3. Author's Purpose (10 minutes)
